Student Professional Development Scholarship

Caitlyn Sweet
Shenandoah University

I am a second-year dual Master of Athletic Training and Doctor of Physical Therapy student at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, with minors in physiology, biology, and coaching, from Shenandoah University in May 2024. I am originally from Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, where my passion for the healthcare field first began. Over the past three semesters of clinical experiences in both disciplines, my passion for delivering exceptional, patient-centered care has grown exponentially. One of the most impactful lessons I have learned throughout my clinical rotations is the importance of tailoring care to each individual patient. As I continue to grow into my dual role as an athletic trainer and physical therapist, I aspire to apply the clinical knowledge I gain through experiences such as the VATA symposium to better serve my future athletes and patients.

Trilby Kite
Shenandoah University

I am from York, PA and currently a second year student in the Dual MSAT/DPT program at Shenandoah University. I have had a passion for Athletic Training since I was in high school and got to shadow my AT at Friday night football games. My career goals are to potentially work in a collegiate setting or to find ways to use my degree to help a diverse population of individuals reach their goals and return to doing what they love. This is my second VATA conference representing my university on the Quiz Bowl team and volunteering for the event. Fun fact about me: I have 6 siblings!
