It is election season! The VATA doesn’t run without its volunteer leadership and we would appreciate your help in this area. If you have a desire to work as a team with other athletic trainers that are passionate about promoting our profession across the Commonwealth, please consider applying. One of the best parts of volunteerism with the state association is the opportunity to interact with other professionals. Position descriptions are available in the VATA By-laws. The following positions are up for election or re-election:
Executive Council
- Treasurer
Regional Representatives
- Western Region
- Eastern Region
- Tidewater Region
Committee chair
- Education Compliance Chair
- This position is up for appointment and, therefore, does not require a formal application. If you are interested in this position, please send a letter of interest and your resume to VATA President Kirk Armstrong ([email protected]).
- Duties
- Serve the VATA by maintaining compliance with the Board of Certification (BOC) Approved Provider program. Maintaining this compliance allows VATA to offer approved continuing education to ATs.
- Responsible for ensuring that all BOC Approved Provider standards are met, as well as the completion of relevant reports to the BOC as requested.
Eligibility
Applicants must provide evidence of current BOC certification, Virginia Athletic Training licensure and NATA membership. The Nominations Committee will review if the applicant is eligible and in good standing as per the VATA by-laws. Further information may be requested to verify applicant eligibility. It is ultimately the candidates’ responsibility to ensure all documentation has been received and within the deadline.
Due Date
Applications for Executive Council and Regional Representative positions are due by April 23rd. Voting will begin in May.
